It is freezing cold and Big George is sleeping gently, as he has done for the past hundred years or so. But it is so cold that eventually even Big George wakes up and ventures into an unfamiliar, snowy, ice world, with more friends to make and (poor George!) more enemies to make too.

Pippa Goodhart has had several picture books published for children. She lives in Leicester. Colin Paine has illustrated many fiction titles for Bloomsbury including THE CONJUROR'S COOKBOOK series and the BIG GEORGE novels by Eric Pringle. This is his first picture book. He lives near Worthing, West Sussex. Eric Pringle has written many plays for radio and television and has also done many dramatisations. These include Doctor Who for television and dramatisations of Thomas Hardy, Joan Aiken and HE Bates for Radio 4. This is his third children's book for Bloomsbury. Eric lives in Ledbury, Herefordshire. Colin Paine has illustrated The Conjuror's Cookbook series for Bloomsbury. Colin lives in Worthing, West Sussex.
