Judith Nicholls is one of England's best-known children's poets. She has written over fifty poetry collections and her work is regularly broadcast on BBC Radio for Schools. Judith has three children and six grandchildren and makes her home in Wiltshire. Grace Nichols is one of the most exciting poets writing today. She is currently Poet-in-Residence at the Tate Gallery. Grace lives in Sussex. Vernon Scannell's varied career has included serving in The Gordon Highlanders in World War II and that of a professional boxer. His poetry has been awarded a number of prizes including the Heinemann Award for Literature and Cholmondoley Poetry Prize as well as the Society of Author's Travelling Scholarship. He has published several poetry books and novels for younger readers and has been widely anthologised by Macmillan Children's Books. Colin McNaughton was born in Northunberland and had his first book published when he was still at college. He his now one of Britain's most highly acclaimed authors and illustrators. James Berry grew up in a tiny village on the coast of Jamaica. He currently lives in Great Britain. Katherine Lucas studied illustration at the University of Brighton. She recently won the Macmillan Prize for Illustration. She lives with her husband in England.
