Jane Clarke is the author of Sherman Swaps Shells (Red Fox Flying Foxes 2000) and Smoky Dragons (Little Tiger Press 2002), Plodney Creeper, Supersloth (Egmont, 'Blue Bananas series', August 2001) as well as numerous poems published in collections such as The Hairy Hamster Hunt and Other Pet Poems collected by Tony Bradman (Macdonald Young Books, 1999). She was shortlisted for the Fidler Award in 1998. Jane trained as an archaeologist and now works as a part-time library assistant at Antwerp International School. She lives in the Netherlands with her two teenage sons, and collection of fossils, rocks and shells. Jane Gray recently completed her degree in Graphic Design and Advertising at Buckinghamshire Chiltern's University College, High Wycombe. She was highly commended for the Macmillan Children's Book competition and this is her first picture book. Jane Clarke is the talented author of over 80 books for young children, including young fiction series such as Dr. Kitty Cat, Pet Hotel and Dinosaur Cove.
