On his birthday Paddy receives a magic pirate hat from his party entertainer, Pirate Jim. The magic hat enables him to find important treasures that people have lost. Paddy has various adventures with his hat, and also gets into the odd hilarious scrape. But by the end he comes to realise that some things are more important than gold and jewels.
