Christopher Awdry is the son of the Reverend Wilbert Vere Awdry and the boy for whom the classic Railway Series was created, which began as a story told to Christopher as a young boy. Christopher Awdry is the author of books 27-41 in the Railway Series, the first of which - Really Useful Engines - was published in 1983. Clive Spong is best known for illustrating The Railway Series books written by the Rev W Awdry and Christopher Awdry, which Spong has worked on since 1983. He has also contributed to children's history books and fairy-tale storybooks.
