Christine Peterson is a critically acclaimed author of more than 70 nonfiction books for children and young adults. As a former bat biologist and middle school science teacher, she is especially interested in science, nature, and environmental themes. Christine's books have been short-listed for the 2012 Green Earth Book Award, honored as "Best Books" by Science Books & Films, listed by the Junior Library Guild, and selected for use in curriculum by the U. S. Department of Energy. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. L. E. Carmichael completed her Ph. D. thesis on the genetics of wolves and arctic foxes in 2006. Since then, she has published 15 science books for kids and teens on topics ranging from animal migration to civil engineering. Her book The Scientific Method in the Real World is a Junior Library Guild Selection, and Fox Talk: How Some Very Special Animals Helped Scientists Understand Communication won a silver medal in the 2014 Benjamin Franklin Awards. Carmichael lives near Halifax, Nova Scotia. Stephanie Watson is a freelance writer specializing in health, science, and young adult nonfiction. She has written more than two dozen books, including Brain Injuries in Football, The Escape from Alcatraz, and Mystery Meat: Hot Dogs, Sausages, and Lunch Meats. Stephanie is also a regular contributor to WebMD, Healthline, and several other consumer websites. She lives in Rhode Island with her husband and son. Lisa J. Amstutz is the author of more than 30 nonfiction books for children and many magazine and newspaper articles. Her background includes a B. A. in Biology and an M. S. in Environmental Science/Ecology. She loves sharing amazing facts about science and nature with kids.
