Christine Chapman trained as a social worker specialising in the fostering and adoption of children. As part of her work she trained parishes in bereavement care and visited schools facing the death of pupils. A trained counsellor, she co-ordinated a team of trained counsellors in the Chester, Diocese and was director of counselling for 12 years. She is author of a book on bereavement for SPCK, Love Abiding (1995).
