AUTHOR: Stephenie Lee thoroughly enjoys being creative as exemplified by her Fine Art Degree and taking on the subsequent challenge of a Masters. She has been involved in gallery shows across the world, most recently in Bilbao, Spain. When not working hard creating stories and illustrations, Stephenie Lee is a devoted advocate for animal welfare and has been heavily involved with her local cat sanctuary for some years. She has had numerous cat welfare articles published in magazines, as well as several short poetic works. Her debut book (The Sanctuary) is based on real cats that have passed through the doors of the local rescue, along with their stories. Stephenie Lee is a firm believer in teaching respect for animals from a young age, and uses her excellent storytelling ability to do so. ILLUSTRATOR: Chris Jaffe was born in High Wycombe in the 1980s. He studied illustration at the University of Portsmouth, before embarking on a freelance career. His first step into the creative world was a humble one, producing a weekly cartoon for a University Student Newspaper. Subsequently he has had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients, producing a broad range of creative designs. Since having won the National Illustration Award from the UK's Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART UK) in successive years, Chris Jaffe's creative talents have been unstoppable! Based on adventures and mischief, his work is distinctive and instantly distinguishable, employing the use of warm colour washes beneath ink outlines. With a vibrant background, he is able to keep the illustrations light-hearted and humorous, whilst still being able to maintain more serious themes of morality that should be a 'must-have' in any good children's book.
