There is an increasing problem with AS and A level physics students not being able to cope with the mathematical content of the courses. The mathematical level reached at GCSE is not high enough for pupils to deal with the maths encounters at AS/A Level. In addition, physics students often have problems relating the maths concepts they have studied to physics questions.
