PreS-Gr 1-Thislatest addition to the series that began with ZooBorns(S. & S., 2010)contains the same crisp and clear photographs of someunusual baby animals. Children are introduced to tamanduas, lemurs, andwombats, among others. The positions in which the animals have been captured, such as the three koalas embracing or the baby langur peeking over its mother'sshoulder, are disarming. The book works well as an introduction to countingskills. The final pages have a reprise of all the animals featured, nowidentified by name. There are three additional pages that provide species name, home, conservation status, and a few pertinent facts. VERDICT This attractive title is ideal for browsers andanimal lovers of all stripes.
