"Wasim in the Deep End" by Wendy Smith follows the journey of a young boy named Wasim, who feels out of place in his new life after moving to a different city. Struggling to adapt, he finds solace in the local swimming pool, where he battles his fear of deep water. As he learns to swim, Wasim discovers not only the joy of overcoming challenges but also the importance of friendship and courage. Through his journey, he navigates the complexities of identity and belonging, ultimately finding his voice and place in a world that previously felt overwhelming and isolating.
