Healthy living means looking after ourselves and our environment, preventing diseases and following good health and hygiene rules. "Living Health" readers focus on important health topics worldwide. Each book contains a story followed by a factfile of information and actvities, all based on a health theme. The series is graded into four language levels, with controlled language in both the story and fact file. This book features the story of the school choir who have to find shelter for the night when their bus breaks down. The farm is great, but their teacher finds the latrine is very dangerous. The accompanying factfile - sanitation - discusses the need for good sanitation and health hazards that arise from poor sanitation. It also looks at different types of latrines and how they can be built and used hygienically.
