Nikki Randall's mother left her and her brother, Eli, behind with their drunk father when they were very young. They never heard from nor saw her again. Twelve years later, Nikki's life begins to take off in the right direction, starting with her father getting help and attending Alcoholic Anonymous meetings. However, the progression comes to a sudden stop when their father disappears one night only to return late the next day more drunk than he's ever been. The reason? It has something to do with Nikki's long-lost mother.
