Hall of Mirrors focuses on Rebecca. She and her family attend a church called The Meeting. It is a strict relgious sect which follows the teaching of the Leader. Rebecca grows up with a set of rules and regulations she has to folllow - no TV, mobile or internet. She has to wear a headscarf and simple clothes. She and her mum and dad live in the gatehouse of a manor - once the home of the Earl of Mallenford, but now unused. Her mum keeps the house in shape for the owner (who lives miles away) and her dad is the groundskeeper. At school she meets Dylan and Luke and they persuade her to help them look at the manor house - Dylan has found a picture on the internet of the manor, with a ghostly face in one of the windows. In the manor, the come across the hall of mirrors - a vast room lined with ornate mirrors - and, looking at her reflection, Rebecca wonders what people make of her. Kathy Lee's Mallenford Mysteries series focuses on the residents of Mallenford. The four books in the series can be read in any order and each one features different main characters.
