John Agard and Grace Nichols were brought up in Guyana, moving to Britain in 1977. Both are well-known writers and performers of poetry. Other poetry collections include Under the Moon and Over the Sea (9781406309591) and From Mouth to Mouth (9780744583830). They live in Sussex. Cathie Felstead is an illustrator whose titles include South and North, East and West (9781406309188). She visited the Caribbean to inspire her colourful illustrations in this collection: she lives in Hertfordshire. Lisa Westberg Peters has written several books for children. She lives with her family in Minnesota, USA, where she walks around a lake near her home at all times of year, in all weather. The story of this particular little duck grew out of one of those cold walks. Sam Williams has written and illustrated many children's books. He has illustrated a series of Buggy Buddies for Macmillan, to be published in June 2001 (0 333 90246 7, 0 333 90247 5, 0 333 90248 3, 0 333 90249 1). He lives with his wife and three children in Hertfordshire.
