The Christmas Story as told by Assellus the Christmas Donkey" appeals to children because it tells the familiar story of the Nativity but with a difference; it is told by Assellus, Mary and Joseph's loveable donkey, from his point of view. Assellus is timeless and speaks in the present tense to take his readrers with him through all the extraordinary events. The beautiful coloured illustrations complete the experience.
