She has also written Grandmothers' Stories (1999), published by Barefoot Books. Sian Bailey was born and brought up in Wales before moving to Brighton, where she gained her Diploma in Art and Design. She currently lives and works in Birkenhead with her husband Peter, who is also an illustrator. Sian has illustrated a number of highly acclaimed children's books, among them Sleeping Beauty (Orchard Books, 1996), Collins Treasury of Fairy Tales (HarperCollins, 1997) and The Snow Queen (Scholastic, 1998).
