Sian Bailey's exquisitely coloured and detailed illustrations have featured in many successful books. Sian studied illustration at Newport and Brighton Colleges of Art. She now lives in Birkenhead with her husband, Peter, who is also an illustrator. This is her first book for Macmillan. Burleigh Muten, is a pre-school teacher and mother of two children who lives with her family in Massachusetts. She is the founder of Hands of the Goddess Press, USA, which she created in order to publish her Return of the Goddess engagement calendar. She has also written Grandmothers' Stories (1999), published by Barefoot Books. Sian Bailey was born and brought up in Wales before moving to Brighton, where she gained her Diploma in Art and Design. She currently lives and works in Birkenhead with her husband Peter, who is also an illustrator. Sian has illustrated a number of highly acclaimed children's books, among them Sleeping Beauty (Orchard Books, 1996), Collins Treasury of Fairy Tales (HarperCollins, 1997) and The Snow Queen (Scholastic, 1998).
