Paul, is haunted by a recurring dream of being pursued by a winged creature that he cannot see but knows is hunting him. His nightmares, which he believes are warnings, start to manifest in real life when he embarks on a dangerous journey up one of the world's most perilous mountains. Paul's connection to his Abenaki heritage and stories is central to his character, though the creature he encounters is unlike anything from his people's legends. The story blends suspense, mythology, and the power of dreams into a gripping tale of survival.
