Gary D. Schmidt is an American children's writer of nonfiction books and young adult novels, including two Newbery Honor books and one Printz Honor award. He lives on a farm in Michigan and has six children. He is a Professor of English at Calvin College. Frances Schoonmaker is a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teacher's College, Columbia University. She has taught and lectured in China, Japan, Mexico, England, and India, and served as the head of the teacher education initiative for the Teachers College/UNICEF Afghanistan Project. Jonathan Levin is Dean of the School of Humanities and Professor of Literature and Culture at Purchase College, SUNY. He lives in the Riverdale, New York with his wife Erica, daughter Toby, and their twenty-one-year-old, Whitman-loving cat Rosa. Brod Bagert is the author of the popular Let Me Be the Boss. He lives in New Orleans, Louisiana.
