A geophysicist and fine artist, Brian Lovelock lives in New Zealand. Sharon Holt was born in Auckland and grew up there. She left school at 16 and trained and worked as a teacher before applying for journalism school. In recent years she has written a number of educational books for publishers in New Zealand and Australia.
