He has illustrated Avi's Poppy Stories, Kate Messner's Marty McGuire novels, and Jan Greenberg and Sandra Jordan's Ballet for Martha: Making Appalachian Spring , a Sibert Honor Book and winner of the Orbis Pictus Award. LYNNE COX is most famous for being a long-distance swimmer, swimming across such places as the English Channel, the Strait of Magellan and around the Cape of Good Hope. She has written several books for adults about her experiences as a swimmer, but this is her first book for children. Lynne lives in Los Alaimos, California. As a child, BRIAN FLOCA loved to draw cars, monsters, Bert and Ernie, Spider Man, dinosaurs and Yoda. He attended Brown University and took several classes at the Rhode Island School of Design, and received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts. He won the Caldecott Medal in 2014 for Locomotive, and has received numerous other awards. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
