Dragonfly Kites, part of a trilogy written by Tomson Highway, was shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for illustration and the Ruth & Sylvia Schwartz Children's Book Award. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art, Brian lives in Toronto, Ontario with his wife and daughter. Sally Fitz-Gibbon is a former special education teacher and the author of Two Shoes, Blue Shoes, New Shoes and Lizzie's Storm . She lives with her husband on Bowen Island, near Vancouver, British Columbia. This is the first time she has teamed up with her daughter, Kirsti Wakelin.
