Read and Respond is a series of photocopiable activity ooks based on popular children's novels for KS1 and KS2 English. It aims to help teachers organize tasks which introduce children to a range of specific key reading skills as outlined in the Reading PoS. The series is banded into 4 ability levels: Starter (5-7 trs), Beginner (7-9 yrs), Intermediate (8-10 yrs) and Advanced (9-11 yrs). Each book in the series contains up to 24 interactive photocopiable worksheets which help children to become enthusiatic, motivated and reflective readers. The activities encourage children to think critically, justify preferences and discuss viewpoints other than their own about the books they read. Mister Magnolia by Quentin Blake is a whimsical story in rhyme. Mister Magnolia, who has only one boot, has a crazy lifestyle. Children will love the wonderful illustrations and accompanying rhythmic text. Mister Magnolia won the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Children's Book Award.
