Liz Lawrence was widowed at the age of 38 and raised her two children alone. Now they are grown up, Liz works with people with learning disabilities. She lives in Banstead, Surrey. Brenda and Stuart Naylor are the husband-and-wife team behind the Science on the Underground posters. They are ex-teachers and now train teachers at Manchester Metropolitan University. They developed science 'concept cartoons' in the course of their work with primary teachers and realised they had great potential for science teaching at all ages. Jane Turner has been a practising teacher for the deaf for thirty years, experienced in teaching deaf/hard of hearing babies, toddlers and schoolchildren up to sixteen years of age. She specialises in the aural/oral rehabilitation of pupils with hearing aids or cochlear implants.
