Among the cultural figures of the Old West, Frederick Remington stands head and shoulders above the rest-literally. A good-natured ogre by size and appetite, the artist portrays the West with such skill that the American government entrusts his safety to Lucky Luke. Looking after such a national treasure is not usually an easy task, but Luke will soon discover that Remington hardly needs protecting-except maybe from his own excessive impulses...

In 1972, De Groot took over the very successful Clifton series, originally created by Raymond Macherot. He began a fruitful collaboration with Rodrigue in 1999 by launching the Doggyguard series, published by Le Lombard. The latter joined him in 2002 to continue the adventures of the famous Sir Harold Wilberforce Clifton. Born and raised in Belgium, author Morris moved to the United States in 1946 and stayed six years. There, he worked for MAD magazine, gathered documentation, and experienced first hand Lucky Luke's home. In 1992 the jury awarded him the Special 20th Anniversary Grand Prix at the International Angouleme Comic Festival.
