Having joined Disney, the artistic influence of her concept art was strongly felt in Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. After leaving Disney, Mary worked as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, creating advertising campaigns and illustrating several Little Golden Books, some of which are still in print today. David McAliser 'Dave' Barry is a Pulitzer Prize winning American author and columnist and Ridley Pearson is an author of adventure books for children. Together, they have co-authored Peter and the Starcatchers (2004), a prequel to Peter Pan, followed by three additional prequels as well as three Never Land books: Escape from the Carnivale (2006), Cave of the Dark Wind (2007) and Blood Tide (2008).

Mary Blair is best known for drawing concept art for Walt Disney films. When she joined Disney, she briefly worked on Dumbo and an early version of Lady and the Tramp. She began animation and colour design for major films in 1943 and was credited with colour styling on Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951) and Peter Pan (1953). Cynthia Rylant is an American author and librarian who has written more that 100 children's books. Several of her books have won awards, including her novel Missing May, which won the 1993 Newbery Medal and A Fine White Dust which was a 1987 Newbery Honor book. Two of her books are Caldecott Honor Books.
