Bill Thompson is a journalist and IT specialist, who writes for the Guardian, is a technology correspondent for Radio 5's Big Byte and appears regularly on Radio 4 and World Service programmes. He has worked in IT as a programmer, consultant and trainer. He was founder director of the Guardian's electronic publishing, and a member of the Labour Party Policy Commission on the Internet.
