Christine Battuz obtained a master of arts degree from l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Perugia in Italy. Her delightful illustrations can be found in over sixty children's books and magazines. Suzanne Smith is Creative Director and Content Creator at Mums Creative Content Ltd and Doodle Pie Ltd, who create captivating concepts for children's television and books including the Hattie B, Magical Vet series published by Puffin and the Doodle Girl picture book activity series published by Simon and Schuster. Charlotte Cooke graduated from the University of the West of England in 2010 with a First Class Honours degree in Illustration. She was awarded Highly Commended for the Macmillan Prize in 2010. Her publishers include Parragon and Canata Learning and she has worked with Charlotte and Adam Guillain, best-selling authors of the George's Amazing Adventures series. Florentine and Pig is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Eva Katzler. Working with children of all ages in summer camps, Eva quickly became aware that kids had forgotten - or had never known - the simple pleasures of getting a little messy with their hands. She devised the delightful partnership of Florentine and Pig as a way of encouraging children (and adults!) to rediscover the joys of making things together. Jess Mikhail graduated from Loughborough University in 2002 and has illustrated books for well-known authors such as Giles Andreae's I Love You, Little Monster (Orchard) and Jeanne Willis' Sid Did It! (Rigby). Jess loves to draw and create funny characters that make people smile. She works in mixed media by scanning fabrics, scribbling, blobbing, mono-printing and photographing. The youngest in a family of nine children, Julie Gassman grew up in Howard, South Dakota. After college, she traded in small-town life for the world of magazine publishing in New York City. She now lives in southern Minnesota with her husband and their three children. Growing up in a small town with no cable (and parents who were teachers), reading was the only thing to do. Since then, Christianne Jones has read about a bazillion books and written more than 50. Christianne works as an editor and lives in Minnesota with her husband and three daughters. Elina Ellis started drawing as soon as she learned how to hold a pencil, or probably even earlier. She is inspired by almost everything--children, nature, fashion, design, music, art, LIFE. Anything can spark an idea! The trick is to notice it! When she is not drawing, she likes to spend time with her friends and family, reading, running, playing squash, dancing, and traveling. Beth Bracken's books have been translated into multiple languages, and her picture books have won the 2011 Creative Child Award; the 2012 Eric Hoffer Book Award Grand Prize; and the 2013 Mom's Choice Gold Award. She lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her husband, Steve, and their children. When she's not reading, writing, or editing books, Beth spends most of her time knitting endlessly while watching reruns of old TV shows and drinking lots of tea. Jennifer Bell works in the children's department of Foyles. Ivy Sparrow is her first novel. Sarah Horne trained as an Illustrator at Falmouth College of Arts. She has worked in Illustration for Editorial, Advertising and Children's Books for the past three years.
