Bernice Gold grew up in Montreal near the Museum of Fine Art. Her father had a great passion for books and the family had a large collection--about 15, 000--that lined the house. Early on, Bernice was drawn to anthropology and sociology, and she went on to study them at McGill University. In later years she began to play music in amateur groups. This passion led to a recent degree in music from Concordia University.
