In "Rumpelstiltskin" by Bernadette Watts, a young miller’s daughter finds herself in a dire predicament when her father claims she can spin straw into gold. The greedy king, intrigued by the boast, locks her away, demanding her to fulfill the promise. Desperate, she encounters a strange little man who offers to help her in exchange for her future firstborn child. After successfully saving herself from the king’s wrath, she must unravel the mystery of the mysterious stranger’s true name to free herself from his binding agreement. The tale explores themes of courage, cleverness, and the value of names and promises. [Generated by language model - please report any problems].
