School inspectors are coming to Hopswood Junior so everyone is helping to tidy up. Anna-Louise has to clean out the hamster cage and she puts the hamster down on the head teacher's chair for safekeeping. The hamster burrows into the stuffing and the chair is taken away to be re-covered. Luke has to help get the hamster back - which means smuggling the chair out of school. The police are called and, in the confusion, Anna Louise's mother is arrested. Even worse is that Luke has to sacrifice his precious football banner to recover the chair seat. The head teacher gets a shock at assembly, but at least the hamster has been rescued.
