Susan Campbell Bartoletti is the award-winning and critically acclaimed author of many books, both fiction and nonfiction, for children. Her fiction includes the novels The Boy Who Dared , Dear America: A Coal Miner's Bride , and No Man's Land , as well as a number of picture books. She won the Newbery Honor for her nonfiction book Hitler Youth . A former eighth-grade teacher for 18 years, Bartoletti now writes full-time and lives in Pennsylvania with her family. Amy Hest has written many children's stories including Rosie's Fishing Trip, Jamaica Louise James. When Jessie Came Across the Sea (Winner of the 1998 Kate Greenaway Medal) and four books about Baby Duck: In the Rain with Baby Duck; Baby Duck and the New Eyeglasses; You're the Boss, Baby Duck! and Off to School, Baby Duck! " Amy lives in New York City. Claire A. Nivola is a painter and sculptor and has illustrated several children's picture books.
