He has also worked on an educational magazine for Polish children learning English, as well as on an English-language newspaper in Warsaw. Now based in England, he is working on children's titles for a variety on age groups, planning, writing and editing material for books and CD-ROMs. Richard Platt has worked as a writer and copywriter for many years on books, multimedia projects and museum exhibits. He writes for both children and adults, across a wide variety of subjects, and his work has been shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award, and the Times Education Supplement and History Today awards.
