The books in this series provide practical activities based on popular themes. Each title provides ideas for using a theme across all six areas of learning. The books are organized to provide chapters on different elements of the chosen theme with activities supporting a range of the appropriate Stepping Stones and Early Learning Goals. The six books provide an overall introduction, planning, assessment, circle time, displays and 60 activity ideas, with 14 photocopiables including ryhmes and songs. This book provides a range of activities on a popular theme across all six Areas of Learning. The book is divided into chapters for the five senses: sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell. Within each chapter there are ideas for all six areas of learning to provide a good coverage of the Early Learning Goals. Ideas include investigating optical illusions, guiding a blind-folded child around a course and using chopsticks to eat rice, spaghetti and baked beans.
