Great for age 3-9 years
'And they lived happily ever after. The end.' All of Claire's favourite fairytales finish like this, but they never seem to explain what it is, exactly, that makes someone happy ever after. At bedtime her father encourages her to think about it... and soon Claire and her toy unicorn, Capricorn, drift off to sleep for a fairytale adventure. Once in dreamland they meet a fairy, a princess and a frog prince (among others) - all of whom have different takes on 'happy ever after'. Even the talking wishing well has some surprising suggestions. A beautifully imaginative story which challenges the traditional cliche of fairytale endings.
