Lauren Kukla is an author and editor of books and media for kids. She loves LEGOs, gardening, and walking in the woods. Her favorite kinds of books to write are the ones that make her think. Aviel Basil studied at Shenkar College of Design in Tel-Aviv, where he currently lives and works. Since graduating in 2011, Aviel has illustrated more then a dozen children's books, which have been published in Israel. He was awarded a silver medal by the Israel Museum in 2012 for his first book. His style is inspired by 50s illustration, and he loves to use a bright and colorful palette. Sarwat Chadda is a Londoner whose writing depicts the world from both East and West. He has published novels and comics for children and teenagers, both under his own name and writing as Joshua Khan. Poonam Mistry is a freelance illustrator living in the UK. She graduated in 2010 with a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from the University of Hertfordshire. Her style incorporates her love of nature and her Indian roots and explores the relationships between pattern, shapes and colour. Poonam's upbringing and childhood have heavily influenced her work, in particular being surrounded by Indian fabrics, Kalamkari textiles, Madhubani paintings and hand painted ornaments. These patterns and intricate details are featured heavily in her style of work. She loves folklore tales and stories of Hindu Gods and Goddesses and these have been a rich source of inspiration in a number of her illustrations. Poonam's work is drawn by hand with black ink before she uses computer software to add colour and adjust the composition of her illustrations.
