Tom Moorhouse lives in Oxford. When not writing fiction he works as an ecologist at Oxford University's Zoology Department. Over the years he has met quite a lot of wildlife. Most of it tried to bite him. He loves hiking up mountains, walking through woods, climbing on rocks, and generally being weather-beaten outdoors. David Roberts was born in Liverpool. He studied fashion and worked in the industry for several years before going on to illustrate children's books. He has also published Dirty Bertie with Little Tiger Press.

Toad is one of the two main characters in the Frog and Toad series of childrens books written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. Toad is the best friend of Frog, and the two share many adventures in the series, which highlights their enduring friendship, humour, and kindness.
