A picture book introduction to the concept of night and day using children's own experiences as a starting point. It compares the Earth to the familiar and accessible playground roundabout. It closely adheres to National Curriculum topics KS I science, physical processes, looks at light and dark, and Key Stage 2 science, the earth and beyond looks at periodic changes and how day and night relate to the Earth spinning on its own axis. This book is one of a series that takes National Curriculum information topics and explains them in a simple, appealing way. It combines a read-out-aloud quality with a great way of encouraging young children to look and think beyond what they actually visualise.
