Hollie and Figgs: The Missing Rainbow is the second in Annette Sharman's series, which can also be thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone story. In the first book, Hollie and Figgs: Magical Adventures, Hollie found it hard to settle into her new home and school. To cheer her up, her cat Figgs showed her he had magic powers and took her on a magical adventure. When Hollie visited Hippogoblin Land with Figgs, she met a princess who was sad and lonely, because she had no friends. Hollie had an idea about how Princess Lulubud could make friends - she could hold a ball at the royal palace in Hippogoblin Land.
In Hollie and Figgs: The Missing Rainbow, Hollie is very excited as it's coming up to June 14th Princess Lulubud's ball. But when she and Figgs set off for the ball, all does not go as planned. The rainbow that keeps all of the magic inside Hippogoblin Land has gone missing. Princess Lulubuds`s ball has had to be cancelled. Everyone is very upset. Will Hollie and Figgs be able to solve the mystery of the missing rainbow? Will Princess Lulubud have the ball of her dreams? Will Hippogoblin Land ever be the same again?
With new characters to get to know and a new adventure, this book is a must-read for children who love fantasy stories - or any child who has ever dreamed of being a princess!
