This is a seemingly sweet book about baby animals and their mothers. But each of the animals is listed as endangered, and some are already extinct in the wild. The gentle verses in the style of the children's song 'Over in the Meadow' describe the habits of the animals, while information boxes point out the bleak facts of their near extinction.
