In "The Twelve Dancing Princesses," a king discovers that his twelve daughters are mysteriously exhausted each morning, their shoes worn out as if they have been dancing all night. Determined to uncover the truth, he offers a reward to anyone who can solve the mystery. Many try and fail until a clever young soldier, armed with a magical cloak of invisibility, follows the princesses to a hidden underground realm. There, he discovers their secret: a magical enchantment that compels them to dance with twelve enchanted princes. With his wit and bravery, he seeks to free the princesses from the spell. A poor soldier, seeking the reward, borrows an enchanted cloak from an old woman and is able to follow the princesses as they escape in the night to a castle where they dance with their twelve suitors.
