The Schofield & Sims puzzle books have been specially written for Key Stage 2 children to work through independently. Carefully graded and challenging, the puzzles help children to develop the mathematics skills that they need in school, as well as the thinking skills that are valuable in every aspect of their lives. Number Puzzles contains puzzles that are to do with numbers and logic and encourage children to develop their problem-solving strategies. Worked examples and useful hints are provided and children are encouraged to check their answers against the correct solutions given. The puzzles in this book include: sudoku, kakuro, arithmagons, magic squares, Latin squares, multiplication pyramids and grand totals.

This book is suitable for Key Stage 2. KS2 covers school years 4, 5 and 6, and ages 8-11 years. A key stage is any of the fixed stages into which the national curriculum is divided, each having its own prescribed course of study. At the end of each stage, pupils are required to complete standard assessment tasks.
