Most vultures, or corbeaux as they are known in Trinidad, build their nests on the ground as they have no natural enemies, but Grommit's parents chose to build their nest in the protective roots of a banyan tree halfway up Lady Chancellor Hill. The fledgling Grommit grew up with his brothers and sisters in an increasingly crowded and noisy nest. One day disaster struck! The baby vultures' play got rather out of control and Grommit lost his balance and tumbled out of the safety of the nest on to the road below. Unable to move he lay in the road for some time and could not have survived for much longer had he not been rescued by an 'angel'.Beautifully illustrated by Trinidadian artist, Vanessa Soodeen, this is just the beginning of a delightful story based on a unique friendship and a lifetime of adventures which will keep readers of all ages enthralled.
