Silke is back and her private investigation business is booming. The feisty firemage has been drafted in at the King's request to disengage the magic wards protecting her renegade brother's estate - a dangerous job. But there is an upside in the form of the King's special agent, Jan Dufay, sent to enlist Silke's help and accompany her on the mission. In the meantime her associate, Lucius Stone, agrees to use his telepathic skill to track down a young novice who has mysteriously disappeared from her reclusive Order of earth worshippers. But there is more to Jan Dufay than meets the eye, and the missing girl is not quite as innocent as she seemed, either. When the two cases come together. Silke and Stone suddenly find themselves in deep trouble again and needing all their ice and fire magic to survive. The second fantasy thriller starring street wise Ellanoi private investigator, Silke and her human sidekick, Stone.
