Caroline Lawrence is American. She lives with her husband in London. Michael Morpurgo is the award-winning author of over fifty books for children. He won the Whitbread Children's Novel Award for The Wreck of the Zanzibar, and the Smarties Book Prize for The Butterfly Lion. Several of his novels have been adapted for film and television. Michael lives in Devon where he and his wife, Clare, run the charity Farms for City Children. He is currently the Children's Laureate. Andrew Davidson is an acclaimed illustrator. The engravings he did for Ted Hughes' book The Iron Man won him the 1986 Emil/Kurt Maschler Award. He lives in Gloucestershire.
