The songs appeal especially to young children and are short enough to learn by rote. No music reading is required and the CD includes both sample performances and backing tracks for every song.

Ana Sanderson is the compiler of Banana Splits, author of three Roald Dahl musicals and author of two units on singing in Music Express. Dee Shulman writes in a studio overlooking a school quadrangle that bears a striking resemblance to the one at St Magdalene's. She has a degree in English from York University and went on to study Illustration at Harrow School of Art. Kate Sheppard went to the same art college as David Hockney. She has illustrated well over 100 volumes. The quirkier the book, the more fun Kate has with the drawings.
