John Cunliffe qualified as a librarian and teacher, and has been involved with children's books for over forty years. He began writing full-time in 1988, although his first children's book was published in 1964. He was commissioned by the BBC to write the Postman Pat series in 1978. These were broadcast in 1981; the new series of Postman Pat is currently being broadcast. He is the writer and presenter of Rosie and Jim, broadcast on the ITV network. He hopes to work with multimedia in the future. Alison Ritchie works as a freelance editor and writer and has published several children's books. She lives in a village in Oxfordshire with her two children and dog.
