In "This Is the Tree We Planted" by Alison Friend, a beautiful, lyrical story unfolds around the themes of growth, change, and connection. As a community gathers to plant a tree, the narrative explores the relationships between the characters and the memories associated with the tree over the years. Each season brings new experiences, challenges, and celebrations, reflecting the cycles of life and the impact of nature on human emotions. Through vibrant illustrations and heartfelt prose, the book captures the essence of nurturing not only a tree but also friendships and the importance of collective memory in a shared space.
