Bijan and Manije is a beautiful story of love across the divide, reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet , but with a distinctive Persian flavour. A twist of fate brings the heroic young knight Bijan face to face with Princess Manije, the daughter of his enemy. They fall in love and refuse to abandon each other. As well as winning awards in Iran for her illustrations, she was shortlisted for the Hakka International Picture Book Award in 2017, one of the runner-ups in 2004's Noma Concours and in 2006 she won Noma Concours Encouragement Prize.
